Handset manufacturers that use Google’s Android software should be concerned about the agreement of the Internet search leader to buy Motorola Mobility, said Wednesday chief executive of rival Nokia.

Nokia has partnered with Microsoft, Google eternal enemy, to use its software for mobile phones, while manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics, HTC and Motorola have opted for Android.

Google’s plan to buy Motorola for U.S. $ 12,500 million has raised concerns among some analysts about whether Motorola would get preferential treatment compared to rivals like Samsung and HTC.

“If I were a manufacturer or an operator with Android, or anyone with an interest in this area would take the phone and calling some Google executives to say ‘I see some danger,’” said Nokia CEO Stephen Elope at a seminar in Helsinki.

As for Nokia, Elope seemed to suggest that Google’s decision reinforced the logic of the company’s agreement with Microsoft finlandense.

“The first reaction I had was very clearly now becomes more evident the importance of the third ecosystem and the importance of the alliance announced on 11 February,” said Elope.
He added that since the February deal was announced with Microsoft, there are now between 25,000 and 30,000 applications for the next platform.

Before Elope was named chief executive of Nokia, was president of the Microsoft business division.
